The fact is that the vast majority of stamps (around 900,000 unique types have been issued worldwide to date) are of negligible financial value. As a rule, they cost a few cents to the few EUR/USD apiece.

In addition to the really expensive stamps that cost hundreds of thousands and sometimes even millions of EUR/USD, there are thousands of rare stamps that are worth several hundreds and sometimes thousands of EUR/USD only.
